A Hospital System that comprises, the flagship Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital, a 443 bed teaching hospital and regional center for cancer care and cardiac medicine, phoebe north campus, a 248 bed acute care hospital, Phoebe Sumter Medical Center, a newly constructed 65 bed acute care hospital, Phoebe Dorminy Medical Center, a 65 bed acute care hospital, Phoebe Worth Medical Center, a 25 bed critical access hospital, Southwest Georgia Medical Center, a managed 25 bed critical access hospital, and Phoebe Physicians Group comprising over 100 multispecialty physicians.
Responsibilities
Senior Management responsibility for all purchasing activities, contracting, capital procurement, item master maintenance for the Phoebe Putney Healthcare System and all of the entities, with daily operational responsibilities for 8 FTE’s. Provide support and value analysis for cost savings initiatives in conjunction with all 8 corporate value analysis teams.
Accomplishments
- Developed work guidelines for McKesson Pathways Materials Management System, which supports daily operational consistency.
- Project Lead for GHX Nuvia software and GHX P-Suite software implementation to drive a corporate purchasing and item master maintenance for the corporation.
- Implemented Optifreight for the corporation that will drive a cost savings of $70,000 per year on freight expense.
- Completed first stages of Process Improvement Project for capital procurement and contract processing for the corporation.
- Re-negotiated outsourced mailroom services contract to produce a $3,000 dollar a month savings for the corporation.
- Presented an RFP proposal with the VP of Materials Management to Orthopedic Physicians for orthopedic trauma implants that will produce a cost savings in excess of $100,000 per year.
- Presented an RFP proposal with the VP of Materials Management to Orthopedic Physicians for Negative Pressure/ Wound Vac, as well as managed the product trial with clinical areas, that will produce a cost savings in excess of $100,000 per year as well as a reduction in patient length of stay.
- Conducted and implemented a contract assessment for regional GPO and VHA contracts that has already produced in excess of $300,000 in savings per year.
- Implemented updates on the VHA Standardization programs that have already produced $65,000 in additional cost savings to the health system.

A Hospital System that comprises The Medical Center a 419 Bed Acute Care Hospital, Doctors Hospital a 200 Bed Acute Care Hospital, Hughston Hospital a 100 Bed Orthopedic Specialty Hospital, John B. Amos Cancer Center a freestanding Cancer Center offering Medical Oncology, Radiation Treatment and Infusion, and Columbus Regional Physicians Group comprising 52 multispecialty physicians.
Responsibilities
Senior Management responsibly for the purchasing department, central supply department, OR central supply, sterile processing department and the print shop/mailroom departments, with all daily operational responsibilities for 43 FTE’s. Supply Chain responsibility for all facilities with the exception of Doctors Hospital and Hughston Hospital that maintained HCA Supply Chain Contractually.
Accomplishments
- Project lead for the VHA Save Millions Project, which resulted in $1,312,433 of cost savings for the time period 08/01/2010 to 01/31/2011.
- Lead the CQVA Teams (Clinical Quality Value Analysis) after VHA Save Millions Project was completed, which resulted in an additional $872,864 of cost savings for the time period 02/01/2011 – 06/30/2011.
- Lead the CQVA Teams (Clinical Quality Value Analysis) for the time period 07/01/2011 – 06/30/2012, which resulted in $560,488 of cost savings.
- Re-designed the CQVA (Clinical Quality Value Analysis) tracking spreadsheet and forms to meet our organizational needs.
- Completed a 5% Department Budget Reduction Initiative that lead to operational savings for my areas of responsibility that totaled $291,605 and included a reduction of three FTE’s and the merger of two departments that accomplished operational efficiency.

- Assisted in design & decision making for replacement hospital project (90 million dollar project).
- Responsible for medical equipment purchased for replacement hospital project (6.3 million).
- Responsible for negotiation of all capital purchases and contracts hospital wide.
- Improved the purchasing procedure for 22 hospital owned practices and assisted in the start up of a hospital owned 5 OB/GYN Women’s Center, a 4 General Surgery ASC, an ENT Practice, and Orthopedic Center.

- Stryker Sole Source Agreement for cost reduction in orthopedic implants/ Audit Process Set-up for improved charge capture.

Responsibilities

Assumed interim management responsibility for the Nutrition Services Department. Completed department rotations with all ancillary and medical departments working the front line positions to get a full understanding of workflow and hospital processes.
